Our Tickets
We know that your experience with us begins the moment you choose to buy a ticket, that’s why we try and make this process as simple as possible.
Whether you’re going on a one-way (single), return or open return journey, below you'll find information about our different fares so you can know which is right for your travelling needs.
Our Fares

Restricted fare - not amendable and not refundable
- This fare is not refundable.
- No amendments can be made to any part of the ticket.
- No further discounts permitted. No Coachcard discounts are applicable on this fare type.
- This ticket is only valid to and from the destinations as specified on your ticket. You may not travel to/from another location on this ticket. Attempting to board or alight at a destination not specified on your ticket is not permitted.
- You must travel on the timed journey you are booked on.
Standard fare - amendable and not refundable
- This fare is not refundable but the journey date and time can be changed prior to the current departure date and time.
- Amendments must be made prior to the journey (whether outbound or return) by visiting Manage My Booking, visiting a National Express Travel shop, National Express Agent or by contacting us.
- An amendment fee will apply so please have your credit/debit card details to hand (you may also pay cash in a ticket office).
- An excess fare will also be charged, where a higher fare applies to the requested amendment.
Fully flexible fare - amendable and refundable
- Unlimited amendments to the journey date and time can be made any time prior to departure without incurring an amendment fee. You can use My Account for the easiest way to amend a journey.
- Refunds can be made up to 24 hours prior to the departure of the outward journey, however, some extra products may not be refundable (i.e. travel insurance beyond its 14 day cooling-off period).
- We cannot offer refunds on part-used tickets.

What are Conditions of Carriage?

Discounted fare types
The price of your ticket is dependent on when you're looking to travel, your age, who you're travelling with and how far in advance you book.
Our discounted fare types include:
- Child Fare - Child fares are discounted by 25% the price of either a Standard or Fully Flexible adult fare. This applies to children aged between 3 and 15. Children aged 2 years or younger travel for free (one free child under two years with one fare-paying adult).
- Infant ticket - One Infant/baby aged 0-2 travels for free when accompanied by an adult with a valid ticket. Additional infants aged 0-2 must be paid for. If you are travelling with more than 1 infant aged 0-2, please book the additional infant as 'Children (3-15)'.
- Group Airport Travel - Travel between London's four major airports for just £20 each one-way, when you travel in a group of three or more. The discount will automatically apply at checkout.

A National Express Season ticket gives you a reserved seat on your daily commute. It's a great way to save some money when you make the same journey more than three or four times a week.
Simply choose the two locations you travel between most, purchase a Season ticket, choose from 1 month to 1 year validity and get unlimited travel in both directions.
