How do I book coach tickets?
There are five easy ways you can book tickets for your journey:
Use the Journey Planner on our homepage to book your ticket.
Your ticket will then be sent to you along with an order confirmation email - simply print the ticket email and bring it with you.
With a range of payment methods, paying for your ticket has never been so simple. Pay now using your credit/debit card, Paypal or Amazon account.
If you'd prefer to book over the phone, just call our Customer Contact Centre where a member of staff will help with your booking.
If you have a voucher code please visit our Using a voucher code page to see how to redeem and save money.
You can also book your ticket at one of our coach stations, or even direct from the coach driver on the day of travel.
Drivers can only sell tickets via cash payment (and may have limited change), to avoid delays to your service and to guarantee you a seat, please purchase your ticket before travel.
By booking in advance you may save more on ticket prices and you can also manage any bookings by signing up to My Account. Book now using the blue journey planner on NationalExpress.com.
Payzone offers customers the ability to pay for services and settle bills at locations such as convenience stores, supermarkets and other local retailers. Head to your nearest Payzone store to buy coach tickets today and keep your journey on track.
To find your nearest Payzone store, visit Payzone.co.uk.
Postage information: If you choose to have your ticket posted to you, you'll need to allow 7 days for delivery in the UK, 14 days for delivery to Europe, and 28 days for delivery to the rest of the world.
Tip: If you’re booking online or over the phone, you can choose to receive an “e-ticket” that can be shown on your smartphone/tablet, sent an SMS ticket or have your ticket posted to you.
Our fees
To keep our fares as low as possible, and to be totally transparent with our customers, we charge separate fees for the different parts of our service, rather than rolling them into our ticket prices and charging you more.
We charge different booking fees dependent on the booking method, and we always try to keep them as low as possible. Our booking charges are:
- A £1.50 booking fee per web transaction
- A £3 booking fee per phone bookings
- A £2 booking fee at coach stations
The booking fees also cover all standard debit/credit card fees and reservation costs.
To mitigate against rising business costs and continue to offer you the best possible fares, we charge a £3 fee for posting your ticket to you. If you’ve chosen to have an SMS ticket sent to your mobile via text message, we charge a £1.50 delivery fee.
Standard Fare: A £5.00 amendment fee will apply and excess fare will also be charged, where a higher fare applies to the requested amendment. Amending your ticket via telephone will be subject to a £6.00 amendment fee, plus any excess fare if applicable.
Fully Flexible Fare: Unlimited amendments can be made any time prior to departure without incurring an amendment fee.
How amendments are calculated: new fare - original fare paid = excess fee (+ standard amendment fee).
For example, if your new fare is £15, minus your original fare of £10, the excess fee is £5 (plus the standard £5 amendment fee).
Tip: For airport journeys our Change Coach add-on allows you to change or change or cancel your booking up to 24 hours before travel. You can add this option to Standard Fare Tickets” during the checkout process.
Refunds - Refunds can be made 72 hours before your outbound journey is made, but only on refundable tickets (see Fares, tickets and Coachcards for more information).
Cancellations - Tickets that have the flexible add-on included can be cancelled 24hrs before you are due to travel.
The flexible add-on cost is not refundable, but the remainder of the cost can be refunded. If you cancel your ticket and don't have the flexible add-on, our standard cancellation fee of £5 applies.
