Dozens of charity groups and community organisations have benefited after the National Express Foundation distributed its latest funding round.

A competitive grant process saw 32 community organisations being awarded a share of £102,100.

The National Express Foundation aims to help disadvantaged young people overcome barriers to success via funding community organisations that can provide dedicated support and guidance to young people.

The Foundation’s latest funding round had a strong emphasis on working with community organisations who were able to provide engaging diversionary activities, employability skills or wellbeing support.

Successful applicants also included projects that helped connect young people with green spaces, and empower them to take action against climate change.

Kate Reynolds, Trustee and Chair of the National Express Foundation, said:

“We’re delighted that our latest funding round will see community organisations engage with over 2,000 young people. We had an overwhelming level of interest in our latest funding round, so we’re really pleased to be able to work with a number of community organisations across the country who we are confident will do a great job supporting, engaging and inspiring young people.”
