London 6 May
For a truly once in a lifetime experience, visit London for King Charles III’s Coronation. Enjoy the buzzing atmosphere of the city as the pageantry unfolds throughout the day. The King and Queen Consort will arrive at Westminster Abbey in The King’s Procession for the ceremony, and return back to Buckingham Palace in The Coronation Procession. Conclude the day by seeing the newly coronated king wave from the balcony.
Ascot Racecourse, Berkshire 22 – 24 June
If you love to get dressed up in your finery and watch the horses, then Royal Ascot is for you. Enjoy a day of excitement, starting off with (another!) Royal Procession down the Straight Mile before the racing begins. Clutch your betting slips and cheer on your horse – fingers crossed you win a few quid! Finish the day listening to the choir sing songs from both past and pre
Worthy Farm, Somerset 21 – 25 June
If you’re lucky enough to have bagged some tickets to Glastonbury, you’re no doubt beyond excited for one of the biggest celebrations in music. Enjoy the buzz from the crowds singing along to familiar favourites from the likes of Lizzo, Arctic Monkeys and Guns N’ Roses (all confirmed for 2023!) If you want a break from the tunes, you can head to another field and enjoy a range of other arts too, including comedy, theatre and cabaret.
Richfield Avenue & Bramham Park 25 – 27 August
Another of the UK’s biggest festivals is of course Reading and Leeds, where you can hear music across a range of genres including rock, alternative, indie, punk and metal – perfect if you like a bit of everything! It’s a must to see those big-name headliners on the main stage, but exploring the other stages and potentially finding a new favourite has to be done too.
Catton Hall, South Derbyshire 25 – 28 May
For the best in independent music and performing arts, visit Bearded Theory Festival. This festival has won a number of awards, including UK’s Best Family Festival, so if you don’t want to leave the little ones behind then this is perfect for them. They even offer a school day experience on the Friday which is free to enrol in so your kids can keep learning away from the classroom. The festival itself is audience led with organisers booking acts based on audience recommendations, creating a real community atmosphere.
Donington Park, Derby 8 – 11 June
Any metalhead’s dream is going to Download Festival! Held at the ‘spiritual home’ of rock, Donington Park, you can expect to headbang to a line up consisting of Metallica, Slipknot, Bring Me The Horizon, and many more this year. Get some laughs from comedians on The Sidesplitter stage, and mosh over to the late-night DJ’s in The Doghouse for a rock and metal club experience.

This is another great one for families with plenty of hands-on activities, science shows and even Jedi Lightsaber training for your little ones!
Matterley Estate, Hampshire 9 – 13 August
For another brilliantly unique festival experience with a twist, visit Boomtown. The festival itself is split into several districts, each with its own theme. Explore the story of Boomtown, told through the beautifully crafted sets, live actors and even alternative reality games. The story itself explores progressive ideas and social equality in our digital world, all to a soundtrack of underground tunes from reggae to techno.
Lincolnshire 24 – 27 August
As the name suggests, this festival will have you exploring an abandoned forest, derelict buildings and deserted junkyards. The event itself has a particular focus on wellness, with talks and workshops to support your wellbeing, including yoga, creative workshops, saunas, and massage. You can expect a range of cutting-edge musicians playing electro, techno and drum and base, so don’t forget your comfiest dancing shoes!
