Driving + Parking – Heathrow parking can set you back £40+ per day or £200+ per week for long-stay. And that’s before factoring in petrol and the fun of navigating airport traffic.
Train – A direct train ticket from Birmingham to London can cost £50+ one way in peak hours, plus it takes 2 hours 15 minutes which is faster than the train all before you even factor in the extra cost and time of getting to Heathrow from the station.
Book in Advance – The earlier you book, the better the price. Unlike trains, coach fares stay refreshingly reasonable.
Get a Coachcard – If you're a student, senior, or under 30, a National Express Coachcard gets you 1/3 off fares all year round.
Look Out for Deals – Keep an eye on the National Express website for flash sales and promo codes.
Unlike some transport options (looking at you, train companies), National Express lets you bring one large suitcase (up to 20kg) and one piece of hand luggage (up to 10kg).—free of charge. That means no last-minute repacking or extra fees for an extra bag.
