It’s almost time to say goodbye to 2023 and what a year it’s been. After the Christmas celebrations have slowed down, you’ll probably want to put some exciting things in the diary for 2024. But where to start?
DesignMyNight has put together a list of the best things to try out in 2024 across the UK - with everything from the best foodie festivals to Formula One racing experiences that are sure to get your heart racing. Get on top of your adventure bucket list right this second and book one of these amazing experiences and your coach ticket in one go.
If you’re a foodie (and don’t mind getting messy) then Wing Fest is for you. Returning to London for the 10th year, this fab festival will include a whole host of live music, axe throwing and of course, plenty of chicken. With 80 types of wings to try, you must ensure you enter on an empty stomach. Tickets start from just £25 for adults and £5 for kids. Better yet, if you’ve got little ones under five, they get in for free.
Jumping in giant ball pits isn’t just child's play, especially at Ballie Ballerson. Bounce around in their ballpits with your friends (childhood you would be so jealous). Their bar also serves up the most nostalgia-inducing cocktails. Does a Dib Dab libation tickle your fancy, cause they have one on the menu. Expect banging RnB tunes all night long too, if you want to continue the fun after you step outside the ballpit. Tickets start from just £5, so it’s one for the 2024 bucket list.
The Hip Hop Orchestra Brunch - Manchester
Fan of all things RnB, hip hop and afrobeats? Then you’re going to love this bottomless brunch at Manchester’s Blues Kitchen. Bop along to all your favourite tunes as a live band take the stage while indulging in delicious BBQ dishes (their hot buffalo wing sandwich is a must) and endless rum punch, mimosas or prosecco. Feeling a bit fancy? Why not treat yourself to one of their cocktails too. Their coconut Mezcal negroni is a dream. This is one event well worth travelling for.
Channel your inner Louis Hamilton and head to F1 Arcade for the ultimate racing experience. Set your skill level and challenge your friends to a heated driving battle (don’t worry, it’s all fun and games at the end of the day). They’ve also got a world-class menu full of burgers and tacos for those wanting a bite to eat, and kids above seven can come and enjoy the experience anytime before 6 pm. A trip to Birmingham has never looked so good.
Hop off the coach and onto a boat for the ultimate tour of the big smoke. Thames Lates provides a 50-minute partly guided tour of the capital whilst speeding down London’s largest river. There are also classic tunes to sing along to whilst seeing the sights, and you’ll receive a seasonal drink as you pass Tower Bridge at sunset. Tickets start from £54.95 per person and it’s worth every penny, including the bus fair.
If you’re looking for something competitive (and loads of fun) to do in 2024, then Electric Shuffle is just the ticket. Book a game of shuffleboard at this boujee activity bar (the loser gets the next round in). You can watch replays of the most epic moments of the game, all whilst enjoying a cheeky cocktail or two on the sidelines. These guys also whip up pizza boards that make for the perfect sharer after an intense game of shuffleboard.
On the hunt for an adventure next year where you can do something out of the ordinary? A trip with the whole fam to the Quirky Quarter in Liverpool is definitely in order. Expect challenging puzzles, a whole host of interactive activities and bizarre photo opps (have you ever taken a photo of yourself upside down before?). Easily lose an hour exploring this fascinating place, ticket prices start at £15.50 for adults and just £9 for children - it’s an absolute must-try experience.
Point Blank Shooting - Newcastle
2024 is the time to put all those hours of video games to good use by visiting Point Blank Shooting in Newcastle. Choose from more than 200 scenarios (think zombies, monsters, creatures - the whole shebang). This place also doubles down as a speakeasy cocktail bar, so once you're done with target practice, you can enjoy a cheeky tipple. Tickets start at £45 per hour (split between four people) making it the perfect affordable activity to try.

As well as the class, your £20 ticket will include a welcome drink - there’s even juice for little ones - as well as edamame and gyoza to share.
