Bournemouth Christmas Tree Wonderland

Bournemouth's Christmas Tree Wonderland

Published 18 November 2019

Love everything about Christmas? Well, then you won’t want to miss a trip to Bournemouth’s Christmas Tree Wonderland. This magical, mystical and insta-worthy family friendly event runs from November 15 2019 – January 2 2020. Best of all it’s free to attend!

 Bournemouth Christmas Tree Wonderland

The glittering Christmas Tree Wonderland trail includes 100 diverse and dazzling trees, extraordinary illuminations and light installations which run from the seafront through Victorian Lower Gardens to the bustling Alpine Market in The Square. Stunning replicas of international Christmas Trees are part of the trail, representing Moscow, St Petersburg, Warsaw, Bethlehem and Seattle. Bournemouth’s very own Wonderland Tree stands 60ft tall and proud, performing dazzling musical light shows and enchanting everyone who comes to visit.

2018 was the first year for this event but 2019 looks to be even better with new attractions such as; cascading lights at the Smugglers Cove Adventure Golf; a giant 7 metre golden reindeer at Beales place in the centre of town, the crimson red Tree of Light in the middle of the Trail and an enchanting Polar Walk, nestled above the uplit bandstand, watched over by Narnia-esque Polar Bears. Away from the gardens, a gigantic beautiful walk-through bauble lights up the triangle, while twinkling Gingerbread People can be found at the Lansdowne - feeling joyful yet?

If that wasn’t enough to get you into the Christmas mood, for added festive flourish there is the atmospheric outdoor SKATE rink, hot chocolate and mulled wine at The Alpine Bar and Christmas shopping at the Festive Market. There’s also a grotto for the kids too where they can meet Santa himself!
